The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) is available for patients, families, carers and staff, offering on the spot information, support and advice.


How could the PALS team help me?


The PALS team can help you to:


  • Quickly resolve any problems.
  • Make a suggestion or comment.
  • Find out who to talk to.
  • Find out about independent advice or advocacy services.
  • Obtain current health information.
  • Find out about Trust services.

When should I contact PALS?


If you have a question, comment or suggestion, or an issue you would like to resolve, please speak to a member of staff in the ward or department concerned as soon as possible. If you still have some questions then contact PALS. You or a member of staff can contact PALS at any stage.

How can I contact PALS?


  • Ask a member of staff to contact us on extension 2793.
  • By telephoning 01872 252793 during the week between 09:00 and 16:30 or by leaving a message on our answering machine during the weekend or in the evening.

  • Text us on 07800 006479 (please note this service is only for sending us text messages and does not accept calls).
  • Text Relay on 01872 240892.
  • Come into the PALS office, 1st floor, Trelawny Wing, at the Royal Cornwall Hospital between 09:30 and 16:00 on weekdays.
  • If you are an inpatient at West Cornwall Hospital or St Michael’s Hospital, ask a member of staff about contacting PALS confidentially.
