Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust - West Cornwall Hospital, St Michael's Hospital and Royal Cornwall Hospital - need your support to become an NHS Foundation Trust. Being an NHS Foundation Trust would give our staff and community greater freedom and control over the way services are run.
Financially it enables us to keep surpluses to invest in new and improved services.
NHS Foundation Trusts are still part of the NHS and provide free healthcare.
Our Foundation Trust Consultation
The Royal Cornwall Hospitals Foundation Trust consultation concluded on 27th November 2011. In response to the views heard the Board of Directors decided to increase the size and make-up of the Council of Governors from 16 to 20 people. This will include 2 extra staff governors and 2 extra public governors. The Council of Governors is the key representative group of public and staff who will hold the Board of Directors to account and help set the overall strategic direction of RCHT when we become an NHS Foundation Trust.
