Top Midwife visits Cornish birth units 

One of the UK’s top midwives, Royal College of Midwives President Professor Lesley Page, has spent two days visiting Cornwall’s maternity units. Professor Page took a tour of the Princess Alexandra (maternity) unit before heading on to visit Helston Birth Centre and Penrice Birthing Centre. Phoenix Stroke Appeal passes £300,000 mark!

The Phoenix Stroke Appeal, which has been generously supported by Radio Cornwall as its chosen charity over the last year, has today passed the £300,000 mark. The figure currently stands at £301,801.

Doctors' Mess Charity Social this Friday

Treliske Doctors’ Mess have organised a Charity Social at Vertigo in Truro this Friday (27th) and all are welcome.

The event is to welcome new doctors, bid adieu to the old (!) ones, and raise money for two charities. There will be dancing, music and raffles in support of Cornwall to Cape Town, a 11,000 mile journey three of the junior doctors will be embarking upon in the next few months. The trio are aiming to raise as much cash as possible for Medecins Sans Frontieres and Gondar (Ethiopia) Eye Charity and money raised at the evening will be go towards those causes.
